Will a Drive-Thru Retail Concept Succeed?

So Ferris Bueller made a cameo in last night's show. It was the scene where Cameron describes his father's love of his vintage red Ferrari — the one that would later end up trashed in a suburban Chicago forest. It served as reminder of how much we love our cars and help set up a John Berman "Sign of the Times" about a new way to shop. The company is called mygofer.com, a Sears Holdings Corporation brand. The concept is drive-thru retail. Order ahead the groceries and goods you want, pull up to storefront, and your stuff is delivered to the car. Will it work? We shall see. Cars and shopping are two American passions — and we are a nation that loves the convenience of a good drive-thru, as this outrageous slideshow can attest. Enjoy the inside look.
