Hot enough for you? The Northeast is sweltering under an intense heat wave that is predicted to last through tomorrow, when the extreme temperature are expected to move south. Over two dozen record temperatures were bested on Tuesday and more are due to topple today. Beyond making things generally unpleasant, the heat is taxing the Northeast power grid and delaying Amtrak trains across the region. Tonight, Nightline is reporting from hot spots all over the Northeast, including New York's 311 call center, where call volume is up 36 percent.
