Ratings Report for ABC News’ “Nightline” For the Week of July 5, 2010

NIGHTLINE” BESTS LETTERMAN 13 WEEKS IN A ROW IN TOTAL VIEWERS—FIRST TIME IN 10 YEARS

 

“NIGHTLINE” IS 10,000 TOTAL VIEWERS AWAY FROM BEING #1 FOR THE SEASON

 

For the thirteenth consecutive week, ABC News “Nightline” has outperformed CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” among Total Viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. The last time this happened was in 2000. “Nightline” was the number two program among A25-54, A18-49 and Total Viewers for the week of July 5, 2010. Week to week, “Nightline” grew +7% among A25-54, +12% among A18-49 and +1% among Total Viewers. Season to date, “Nightline” posted 3.79 million Total Viewers, just 10,000 viewers away from first place.

*Note: Due to the July 4th holiday, Monday’s ratings for ABC, CBS and NBC are excluded from the weekly average.

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
