This evening, President Obama endorsed the controversial plan to build an Islamic community center near Ground Zero in New York City. "As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country. That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances," said Obama in a speech during the annual White House dinner celebrating the Muslim holiday of Ramadan. "This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable." This is the first time the President has weighed in on the plan that has drawn criticism from conservatives and families of victims of 9-11. Tonight, we ask you: Do you agree with President Obama's support for the building of an Islamic community center near Ground Zero or do you think another site should be chosen? (Credit: Associated Press)
