Democrats and the Bush Tax Cuts: Which Way Will the Politics Break?

So far President Obama is sticking by his promise to extend the Bush-era tax cuts for families that make up to $250,000, but allowing rates to rise for America's highest earners. Republicans say that's a tax hike that will hurt small businesses and kill jobs. Many Democrats are skittish on the issue. So tonight we ask you: Is killing the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest political poison for the Democrats? Or, given the populist mood in the country, is this an issue that they can use to try to stem what looks like the coming Republican tide in November?
