Middle East Peace Talks: New Hope This Time Around?
President Obama is hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority — and the leaders of Egypt and Jordan– for a new round of Middle East peace talks. "We are but five men," Obama said. "But when we come together, we will not be alone. We will be joined by the generations of those who have gone before." At least on the first day, there were signs that the talks could be serious, with the Israeli leader calling the Palestinian leader his "partner in peace." So tonight we ask you: Do the talks in Washington represent a new hope for peace? Or is this just one more step on a road to nowhere in the Middle East?

I would not get any hopes up. The Middle East should be settling their own differences. The fact that they come here and involve us is not a good sign.

The charade continues. We’ve been there, done that. Neither Israel or its benefactor, the US have any agenda other than buying time until the former completes creating facts on the ground. In the Bill Clinton era, when Israel reneged on its commitments, he had the audacity to attribute that to the absurd notion that racist Israel is a “democracy”, therefore OK for new regime to renege!
