Ratings Report: ABC News Programming For the Week of September 20 – September 26, 2010

“RATINGS FOR ABC’S “GOOD MORNING AMERICA”

“GMA” Only Morning Show To Grow Total Viewers Year-to-Year; 

“GMA” Cuts Total Viewing Gap with NBC Week-to-Week and Year-to-Year;

“GMA” Expands Demo Advantage Over CBS Week-to-Week and Year-to-Year,

Also Increases Total Viewing Advantage Year-to-Year

 

For the week of September 20th, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 3.960 million Total Viewers and a 1.3/10 among Adults 25-54.  “GMA” was the only program to display total viewer growth (+2%) among the three morning shows versus the same week last year. The show also posted its best demo delivery since June.

“GMA” narrowed the total viewing gap with “Today” by -18% year-to-year and -1% week-to-week.

Additionally, ABC’s demo (600,000) lead over CBS’ “Early Show” was +3% larger versus both the previous week and the same week last year. “GMA’s” total viewing (1,380,000) lead over “Early Show” was +11% larger versus the same week last year.  

 The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m. ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
