“THIS WEEK” IS SECOND IN A25-54 FOR NINE OF PAST ELEVEN WEEKS

“THIS WEEK” CLOSES YEAR-TO-YEAR A25-54 GAP

WITH “MEET THE PRESS”

ABC News’ “This Week with Christiane Amanpour” was the number two Sunday morning public affairs program in the key A25-54 demographic on Sunday, October 10, 2010 according to Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” has placed second in A25-54 for nine out of the past eleven weeks Ms. Amanpour has been anchoring. Versus the same week last year, “This Week” closed the gap with “Meet the Press” in A25-54 (-17%).

            On Sunday, the show featured four exclusive interviews with Connecticut Senate Candidates Linda McMahon (R) and Richard Blumenthal (D), former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf, and French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde. Also included was a special report from Bob Woodward in North Korea. 2008 Nobel Prize Winner Paul Krugman of The New York Times, PBS’ Tavis Smiley, ABC News’ George Will, and ABC News’ political director Amy Walter joined Ms. Amanpour on the roundtable.

Christiane Amanpour is the anchor of “This Week” and Ian Cameron is the executive producer. The program airs Sundays on the ABC Television Network.
