“GMA” Increases the Most Versus the Competition in Total Viewers Year-to-Year; 

 

“GMA” Only Program to Increase Total Viewing Audience Versus the Competition

Week-to-Week; 

 

“GMA” Cuts Total Viewing Gaps with NBC’s “Today” Week-to-Week and Year-to-Year;

 

“GMA” Expands Both Demo and Total Viewing Advantages Over CBS Week-to-Week and

Total Viewing Lead Year-to-Year

 

For the November 2010 Sweep, “GMA” Increases the Most Versus the Competition in Total Viewers Compared to the November 2009 Sweep

 

 

ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 4.890 million Total Viewers and a 1.4/11 among Adults 25-54 for the week of November 22nd. “GMA” grew the most (+13%) in total viewers vs. last year. (NBC’s “Today”+4%, CBS’ “Early Show”+5%). “GMA” posted its best total viewer delivery of the season so far. Week-to-week, “GMA” was the only program to increase its total viewing audience, growing +5% while “Today” declined -1% and “Early Show” was down -6%. Season-to-date, “GMA” continues to be the only program to grow among total viewers, up +4% while NBC’s “Today” decreased -4% and CBS’ “Early Show” remained flat.

 

“GMA” narrowed the weekly total viewing gap with “Today” by -36%.  Versus last year, ABC shrunk the total viewing gap with NBC by -37%. 

 

Versus the prior week, “GMA” expanded its demo (620,000) and total viewing (2,150,000) leads over “Early Show” by +2% and +26%, respectively. “GMA’s” total viewing lead over “Early Show” was +25% larger versus the same week last year.

 

For the just completed November Sweep, “GMA” grew the most compared to the competition among Total Viewers versus the ’09 November Sweep. “GMA” increased +4% in total viewers while NBC was down -3%, and CBS increased +3%. “GMA” narrowed the total viewing gap with “Today” by -27% and expanded its total viewing lead over “Early Show” by +6% versus the ’09 November Sweep.

 

*Note: Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, “GMA’s” weekly average was based on 3 days (Mon-Wed) while “Today’s” weekly average was based on 2 days (Mon-Tues) and “Early Show’s” weekly average was based on 2 days (Mon-Tues).

 

The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m. ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
