HIGHLIGHTS FOR ABC NEWS’ “GOOD MORNING AMERICA,” JANUARY 17-21

The following report highlights the programming of ABC’s “Good Morning America” during the week of January 17-21, 2011.

“Good Morning America” is a two-hour, live program anchored by Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos. Juju Chang is the news anchor and Sam Champion is the weather anchor. The morning news program airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (7:00-9:00 a.m., EDT), on the ABC Television Network. 

Highlights of the week include:

Sam Champion will report from Port Canaveral, Florida on Wednesday, on Thursday and Friday he will be report live from Disney’s third largest cruise ship, the “Disney Dream.” 

MONDAY, JANUARY 17 – Talk Show host Piers Morgan will discuss his new primetime program; “GMA” reports on the 25th Anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr. Day; Senior Health and Medical Editor Dr. Richard Besser explains how to order your own cholesterol test; a fashion round-up of last night’s Golden Globes 

TUESDAY, JANUARY 18 Actress Betty White talks about her TV Land hit (“Hot in Cleveland”); author and political commentator Ron Reagan, Jr. on his new book about his father (“My Father at 100”); New Year, New You: author and actress Kris Kar discusses her book (“Crazy Sexy Cancer: Eat Your Veggies, Ignite Your Spark, and Live Like You Mean It!”) 

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 19 – Actress Natalie Portman on her latest movie (“No Strings Attached”); actress Valerie Bertinelli on her role in “Hot in Cleveland;” Joan and Melissa Rivers discuss their new reality show (“Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best”)

THURSDAY, JANUARY 20 – Actor Ashton Kutcher on his romantic comedy “No Strings Attached;” “GMA” contributor Elisabeth Hasselbeck on living a gluten-free life (“The G-Free Diet”); “GMA’s” “Morning Mix”  

FRIDAY, JANUARY 21 – Actor Anthony Hopkins on his latest thriller (“The Rite”); Dr. Richard Besser looks at when it’s okay to call in sick to work; New Year, New You: Dancing With the Star’s Louis Van Amstel on how dancing keeps you fit; chef Emeril Lagasse cooks a favorite recipe
