FOR THE 5TH CONSECUTIVE SUNDAY
“THIS WEEK” IMPROVES YEAR-TO-YEAR IN KEY A25-54 DEMO FOR THE 7TH SUNDAY IN A ROW
On March 20, 2011, ABC News’ “This Week with Christiane Amanpour” drew 2.66 million Total Viewers and 940,000 Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research.
For the 5th straight telecast, “This Week” was up over the year-ago Sunday in both Total Viewers (+9%) and Adults 25-54 (+16%). In the key adult news demo, “This Week” improved year to year for the 7th consecutive Sunday.
On Sunday, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen sat down with ABC News’ “This Week” anchor Christiane Amanpour to give the latest news on the United Nations’ decision to enforce a no-fly zone over Libya in an attempt to curb the violence Muammar Gadhafi has unleashed on civilians. French ambassador to the United Nations Gérard Araud and former Libyan ambassador to the United States Ali Suleiman Aujali also joined Ms. Amanpour to discuss the newest developments in the conflict.
ABC News’ George Will, former Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, former ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee Jane Harman, and noted author Robin Wright of the U.S. Institute of Peace joined Ms. Amanpour for a special roundtable discussion on whether military intervention will effectively stop Gadhafi.
Former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff and former U.S. Energy Secretary Bill Richardson also sat down with Ms. Amanpour to deliver the very latest on the battle to bring the damaged Fukushima nuclear reactor complex under control.
Christiane Amanpour is the anchor of “This Week.” The program airs Sundays on the ABC Television Network.
