For the Seventh Consecutive Week, “World News with Diane Sawyer” Grows Total Viewing and Demo Audiences Year-to-Year

“World News” Outperforms CBS by 2.220 Million Total Viewers and 375,000 Adults 25-54

For the week of April 11, 2011, “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” averaged 7.702 million Total Viewers and a 1.6 rating/7 share/2.025 million among Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research.  “World News” improved on its year-ago week performance in both Total Viewers (+11%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%) for the 7th week in a row.

“World News” bettered “CBS Evening News” by 2.220 million viewers and by 375,000 Adults 25-54, increasing its Total Viewer lead over the CBS program over the same week last year (+15% – 1.937 million on w/o 4/12/10) for the 4th straight week and in 13 of the previous 14 weeks.  

Notes: Diane Sawyer was off the week of 4/11/11.  George Stephanopoulos anchored “World News” Monday-Thursday.  David Muir anchored on Friday.
