ABC News Announces Special Coverage of the Space Shuttle Endeavour’s Final Launch

ABC News will broadcast a special report to the ABC Television Network on Monday, May 16 to cover the final launch of the space shuttle Endeavour at 8:56 a.m. ET. George Stephanopoulos will anchor the special report from New York. Bob Woodruff will report from live from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida for "Good Morning America." ABC News will live-stream the shuttle launch on

The NASA mission, which marks the next to last flight for the 30-year old space shuttle fleet and the final for the Endevour, will be led by commander Mark Kelly, the husband of U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords who was critically wounded during the tragic shooting in Tucson, Arizona in January. Rep. Giffords will be on hand at Kennedy Space Center to watch the launch. Bob Woodruff reported on the latest details for Monday's launch Sunday night on "ABC World News with David Muir" (WATCH). 

ABC News Radio will also have complete coverage Monday morning. Vic Ratner will report live from Kennedy Space Center. Steven Portnoy will report on the impact that the end of the shuttle program will have on local communities.
