For the Tenth Consecutive Week, “World News with Diane Sawyer” Grows Total Viewing and Demo Audiences Year-to-Year

ABC Outperforms CBS by 2.14 Million Total Viewers and 220,000 Adults 25-54

For the week of May 2, 2011, “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” averaged 7.97 million Total Viewers and a 1.7 rating/7 share/2.11 million among Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research. 

“World News” posted gains over the same week last year in both Total Viewers (+15%) and Adults 25-54 (+8%) for the 10th week in a row. Season-to-date “World News” is up in Total Viewers (+1%)compared to its year-ago average.

“World News” outperformed “CBS Evening News” by 2.14 million viewers and by 220,000 Adults 25-54.  In addition, for the second week in a row, “World News” increased its Total Viewer lead (+10% – 2.143 million vs. 1.952 million) over “CBS’ Evening News” versus the year-ago week.
