On July 3, 2011, ABC News’ “This Week with Christiane Amanpour” Stands as the No. 1 Public Affairs Program in Both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54

“This Week” Posts Week-to-Week Increases in Both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54

“This Week” Delivers its Largest Total Viewer Advantage Over CBS' "Face the Nation" in 10 Months

On July 3, 2011, ABC News’ “This Week with Christiane Amanpour” stood as the No. 1 public affairs program in both Total Viewers (2.164 million) and Adults 25-54 (762,000), according to Nielsen Media Research.  “This Week” posted week-to-week increases in both Total Viewers (+10%) and Adults 25-54 (+26%), scoring its strongest performance in the key adult news demo in 6 weeks – since 5/22/11.  In addition, “This Week” improved on the year-earlier Sunday (7/4/10) by 7% in Adults 25-54. 

“This Week” outperformed CBS’ “Face the Nation” in both Total Viewers (+65,000 – 2.164 million vs. 2.099 million) and Adult 25-54 (+193,000 – 762,000 vs. 569,000), delivering its largest Total Viewer advantage over the CBS program in 10 months – since 9/5/10.  In addition, “This Week” led the “Face the Nation” in the key adult news demo by its largest margin in 10 weeks (since 4/24/10) and 2nd-widest lead of the season.   

 

 NBC’s “Meet the Press” was pre-empted for Wimbledon.
