Sounds to me like Odds on Promotion didn't read their insurance contract too well. Insurance companies are not there to help you, they are there to make $$. So if they have to choose between $50K and breaking the heart of an 11-your odl kid, guess who just lost?

I 'honestly' don't get it. Was the shooting child a hocky prodigy? If so, why didn't he buy a ticket? Where is the mother? Didn't she have a say in what to do? All things being equal, either child should have been eligible to win the shot, the insurance company was just being, an insurance company and the boys will have to look at this shot (or opportunity) on the world wide web for the rest of their lives. I don't think they will be thanking their father for teaching them honesty when the student loans come due!

The boy made the shot and deserves the money. His brother let him take the shot to be nice to him not to scam the company out of the money. It is wrong to tell people they can win then not pay up. The company should be boycotted and the kids should be praised for the way they show people how to treat each other by doing good things for each other. The boy that was suppose to take the shot was just letting his brother take the shot to be nice to him and then you people tell him it was wrong. Wake up america

The charity event says they had the contract with Nick, who purchased the raffle ticket. I don't think a young child can legally be in a contract with anyone. And I wonder if Nick paid for the ticket himself or did his father pay for it. I think whoever is the holder of the ticket would be eligible to participate.

Any way we can get an address so that I can send $1 to the boys? I figure if 50,000 of us sent a dollar...they would get what was really coming to them.

According to the rules of the promotion, it was legal for the family to substitute another family member for the shot.
The company is claiming that the breach was not informing the organizer that they were substituting. Question is, did the organizer bother to inform them that substituting was okay?

The company was completely right it what they did. The father LIED, he tried to commit fraud to get money! What is he teaching his kids!!??? Odds on promotions did a very generous thing by donating the chunk of money that they did. And they should be grateful for that instead of being greedy!

A kid makes an almost impossible shot, a company defaulots on a technicality, and everyone is supposed to cheer because they decided to give part of the money they withheld on a technicality to a kid's hockey team?

One can only imagine the company's reaction if they had done something that was nearly impossible and then been disqualified on a technicality and barred from getting a monetary reward....
