Shark hunt has been called off in favour of helicopter patrols for the beaches. They’ve started them a month early at a cost of $1million a week. In the last month two people have been killed by great white’s off Perth’s beaches. The state government is under pressure to act, and since no one is willing to invest in long term solutions, the quick fix is culling.

Misty, we’re not heartless. Because it’s your friend doesn’t change the reality. Someone dove alone in an area known for great white sharks, and he was attacked in a normal way by what is apparently a normal shark. The aberrant behavior here was diving alone in the shark’s habitat, not the attack. One has to ask, then: why go after the shark?

Hunting the Shark, what the hell was the guy doing messing with the shark, the man is suppose to be smarter than the shark, he’s doing what he’s meant to do.

I’m glad I’m not the only person confused as to why they are spending $$ trying to find this shark. Things happen. It’s too bad for the friends and family of this man, but I wish they would explain the logic of trying to find the shark. Do they think it’s like a human who remembers where they once got a great pizza and wants to go back for more? I just don’t think it works that way.

This wasn’t a “man-eating” shark or there wouldn’t have been a body. The size sounds as if the shark is youngish – so probably curious. Like young humans they investigate things they don’t understand – and use their mouths to gather information. People are fragile – and should remember that unhappy fact. Leave the shark alone.

Why kill the shark? It belongs there and is doing what it does naturally…kill to survive. I’m American and some of us American’s are stupid and think we can go anywhere we want, and suffer no consequences. I hope the shark gets away.
