The fish led him to the wreck. That’s exactly what would have occurred. Fish seek structure to hide when frightened. When dropped in a current to dive local artificial reefs, we follow the fish and they take us right to the wrecks.

i sure there are a lot of down aircraft and ships off the coast… My mother use to tell me when we were watching 12 oclock high tv show back in the mid 60′s .. How she worked on aircraft durning WWII the aircraft was battling U boats and sometime came back shot up..

Just look for the aircraft’s ID/serial numbers. There’ll be records that will identify when it was lost. I don’t see the big deal.

My father was an airplane mechanic during WW2, also a flight technician with the Army Air Corps (no longer active – now the Air Force). My brother has a picture of my dad bending over an engine of some airplane during that time – and after reading this, I am wondering if it may have been a Curtiss Helldiver, just not sure as the picture only shows dad leaning over the huge engine of this aircraft. I am so proud of him and miss him so much.
