Plenty of obese people claim issues like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease are as a result of their family history. Not their own diets. Dr Jon is trying to get people talking about how truly ridiculous it is to think in term of genetics when it's your own food choices that's killing you. It looks to me that he is making a glaring point that people are not taking personal responsibility. He was calling it a genetic issue sarcastically. Dr. Jon, you are NOT a doctor and should NOT be making such erroneous and misleading statements. Heart disease is not genetic, but how you process animal fat and protein is under genetic control. Do you know what else is not under genetic control? The misery & cholesterol laden 'food' at the end of your fork . I can just imagine the scene at your shameful restaurant- 'nurses' and a 'doc' scurrying around a victim of the poison you sell. Will we ever learn?! Is the restaurateur immoral? Does he lack a conscience? Is he taking advantage of a man's death? Guess if any of that is true, then Nightline giving free national publicity to the place in order to generate profits for ABC would be every bit as guilty. Hmmm. Is the restaurateur immoral? Anyone can CHOOSE what goes into their bodies. No one FORCES a person to eat something. Anybody who disagrees with me should watch forks over knives. Its on netflix. Not that I think any person's heart attack is funny. I don't, of course. But you'd think that this was the only time in the entire history of restaurants that someone actually had a heart attack (or choked to death) in a restaurant. Having to call an ambulance for one of your patrons is every restaurant's nightmare, but it does happen. This is certainly neither the first nor last time a diner has a heart attack while inside the restaurant. It's even happened in "veggies and only veggies" type restaurants. It's not what they're serving, it's just really unfortunate timing!! LOL! Not that I think any person’s heart attack is funny. I don’t, of course. I've never been but might check it out the next time I'm in Vegas. But, honestly, are the skimpy nurses uniforms really necessary? I love a good burger and adore fresh-cut french fries but those uniforms and the sexy poses that I see on the internet puts me off. They already have one gimmick- burgers and fries in outrageously unhealthy portion sizes. Why try to be another "Hooters"? I would not want that much cleavage and midriff in my face when all I'm looking for is a burger meal. For those who want to condemn the place for their menu: If you don’t like it, don’t eat there. It would give new meaning to the term "Truth in Advertising". Perhaps this establishment can have cameras, ready to roll, for their next victim. It is not possible to say what role River’s weight played in his death." WTF? It's not possible to say that the weight of a nearly 600 lb. man didn't contribute to his death. What kind of idiots write for ABC. A 6'8", 350 lb. man is HUGE. What makes you think that a guy weighing 220 lbs. more isn't sickly unhealthy? This is a perfect example of HORRIBLE reporting and writing!! AMAZING! “The Heart Attack Grill came under fire last year when its spokesman, 6’8″, 570-pound, Blair River died last year of pneumonia at age 29.
