President Obama’s Grandmother Recovering After Car Accident

NAIROBI – President Obama’s grandmother, Sarah Obama, is home recovering at her home in western Kenya after an accident that, judging by the condition of the vehicle, could have been much worse.
“God is with me, because if you could have seen the wreckage that we came out of safe, one would wonder,” Sarah Obama said Monday.
Police in the town of Kisumu say the 91-year-old was traveling to her home in the village of Kogelo Saturday night when the driver lost control, and the vehicle rolled into a ditch.
All five people in the car, including her two bodyguards, were taken to a hospital for treatment. All were released with minor injuries.
A hospital spokesperson says Sarah Obama was bruised and in shock when she arrived at the hospital. She was released about two hours later.
“You can see I was not injured save for this small scar on my right hand and I am not even using a walking stick,” Obama said.
She said friends from as far away as the United States and the Middle East have been calling to check on her, but she assures them, “Hakuna tabu!” That means ‘no problem’ in Swahili.
Sarah Obama is the step-mother of President Obama’s Kenyan father. She has been to the U.S. a few times, and the president has been to the village to visit with her and other relatives three times. In his memoir, “Dream From My Father,” Obama called her “Granny.”

It is so hard to think that people of the so called great nation can think that Kenya is a country that cant afford paying for bodyguards.and in any case she is using your tax dollars for protection,what is there for you to do about it?……NOTHING! If you are not proud of him being your president then you dont have to air your dirty linens in the open coz we too dont go well with what our president and seniors does but we respect him/them all the same.even if you grudgingly dont like HIM, HE IS THE PRESIDENT OF CHOICE. If you feel that he is not an American citizen how comes he is the President? To all those who think that taxpayer’s money could leave the US boundaries to go and help any country whatsoever,you are mistaken!!! The taxpayer’s money only get’s into the tummies of your own citizens!!! Kenya may seem to be a poor country but believe me the government is rich enough to supply all the grandmas in Kenya with bodyguards without even feeling the pinch!
I wonder why it becomes news if Kate and Will get married or go to visit the US, while it becomes wrong to air the news of the granny of your president being involved in a tragic accident!!! God is great and we are glad she and the others in involved are okay after that tragic accident.
As for the haters,I pitty you guys because you will never be happy!!! Mama Sarah is a happy lady and a very strong woman who has raised dozens of children both related and not related to her.. so she has more than enough support,she doent need your support nor the support of the taxpayers’ money!! keep on being miserable!!!

Those who are concerned about who is paying the US President grandmother’s body guards, please get exposed beyond your inner circle. Kenya has more than enough resources to pay the Granny’s body guards. What does the US tax payers have to do with this? I am just wondering what level of education these people are to think that the US taxpayers is used to maintain this old lady. Besides, that, the grandson (US President) is working and paying taxes just like anybody else. He can afford to maintain her grandmother without using US tax payers money. For your information, the haters of the US president, the granny has more grandchilden and great grand children who can afford more than what you are worried about your tax payers money.

Reading the kind of some of the comments which appear here is S.A.D (Shocking, Ashaming & Disturbing)The people who are more concerned with ‘who is paying the bodyguards?’ are unfortunately giving a very bad and wrong image of the American people. Such insensitive selfish comments are part of what make people around the world hate “Americans”. Such foolish silly remarks made by a few foolish insensitive selfish people do nothing more than to prove to the rest of the world that Americans are a selfish self-centred lot who do not care about anything or anybody but themselves. It is however fortunate that these are just the foolish few because there are a lot of caring decent Americans out there, But then again? Where did they come from? Me thinks, most of the caring ones are; majority of immigrants and the native Americans! So who does that leave out? Where is the love?
