"World News" Cuts Total Viewing Gap with "NBC Nightly News" by 8% Week-to-Week  

Season-to-Date, "ABC World News" Narrows Total Viewing and Demo Gaps with  "NBC Nightly News" By Double-Digits - Marking Smallest Margins in 3 Years

For the week of February 13, 2012, "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" averaged 8.00 million Total Viewers and a 1.7 rating/6 share/2.11 million in Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research. "World News" increased its Total Viewing audience both week-to-week (7.97 million on w/o 2/6/12) and year-to-year (7.97 million on 2/14/11).

"World News"  decreased its week-to-week Total Viewer margin with "NBC Nightly News" by -8% (1.41 million vs. 1.53 million) .

"World News" has cut its season-to-date gaps with "NBC Nightly News" by double-digits in both Total Viewers (-10%) and Adults 25-54 (-18%), posting its smallest Total Viewer (1.05 million) and news demo margins (368,000) with the NBC program in 3 years - since the 2008-09 season.

"ABC World News"  outperformed the "CBS Evening News" by 1.17 million Total Viewers.

"ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" airs at 6:30 p.m., (ET) on the ABC Television Network.  Michael Corn is the executive producer of the broadcast.
