How did they not notice that the girl Bridget was showing so many signs of being sexually abused? It's not normal for children (even OCD children) to have such extreme fears and aversions to their parents. For God's sake look how she reacted when her father came in the room! I don't know what kind of therapist didn't explore that possibility that seemed so clear.

Also, to "annas mom" it's not demonic spirits, it's mental illness. People used to think that schizophrenia was demon possession, and that's also probably why the depiction is so similar in movies and books. And as someone who is both a mental health professional and believes in the occult and spirits/demons, there is a huge difference. "possessed" people display disturbing behavior and may do awful things, but they are not as tormented as schizophrenics, nor do they exhibit odd speech patterns or other bizarre behavior. And actually, an "exorcism" to these children can hurt, a lot. First of all, it would confirm their delusions, making their separation from hallucination and reality harder to understand. Second of all, if you believe in demons/spirits, it would make an already vulnerable soul WIDE opened for something to take them over. Also, people with mental illnesses have erratic sleep patterns which can cause dark circles under the eyes. I imagine it's hard to sleep when you have voices constantly telling you to kill your mother with a chainsaw.

I watched the show about the children with psychiatric illnesses and I was shocked that no one seemed to be really listening to the kids. The first thing that I thought of were demonic spirits. These kids all looked like others i've seen in videos or even reenactments of children who were possessed by demons. Why haven't they called a priest instead of their insurance providers? They all had the dark circles under their eyes too. If nothing else has worked, could it hurt to at least ,onsider this possibility?
