Police: Mom of Underage Stripper Lied

The mother of an underage stripper was arrested after police discovered she knew about her 17-year-old daughter's gig and was caught on surveillance video watching her daughter dance at the Oregon club.

Christina Marie Lopez, 42, was arrested Friday at her Salem, Ore., home on one count of using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct.

In December, an apparently infuriated Lopez spoke to ABC affiliate KATU about her alleged shock when she said she discovered her daughter was working as a stripper. She called for the club to be shut down and reported the violation to authorities.

"It makes me sick. Makes me really sick thinking, you know, she's 17, but to me she still's got a little kid's body," Lopez said.

She told the station she discovered her daughter was moonlighting as a stripper after the girl came home drunk and had "big and ugly" platforms in her backpack.

Presley's Playhouse Cabaret, the club where 17-year-old Nicole Madril danced, was fined $6,500.

But police said their investigation, which is ongoing,  has proven that Lopez knew about her daughter's gig all along.

"Certainly when you have a parent that knowingly watches their underage daughter dancing on stage and fails to take action, that's very disturbing," Lt. Steve Birr of the Salem Police Department told KATU.

The owner of the club said she believed Lopez arranged the ruse to set her up for a lawsuit.
