"This Week" Stands as the Only Public Affairs Program to Grow Year-to-Year in the Key Adult News Demo
For the February 2012 Sweep, "This Week" Posted Double-Digit Increases Over the November 2011 Sweep and Saw its Most-Watched Sweeps in Over 2 Years
On February 26, 2012, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" drew 2.353 million Total Viewers and 773,000 Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research.
For the 3rd straight week, "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" improved on its year-ago telecast in Adults 25-54 (+2% -759,000 on 2/27/11) . In fact, "This Week" stood as the only public affairs program to grow year-to-year in the key adult news demo as NBC's "Meet the Press" (-8%), CBS' "Face the Nation" (-20%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (-10%) each saw decreases.
February 2012 Sweep
For the February 2012 Sweep, "This Week" posted double-digit increases over the November 2011 Sweep in both Total Viewers (+11% - 2.576 million vs. 2.320 million) and Adults 25-54 (+16% - 829,000 vs. 715,000) . Growing its Total Viewer count for the 2nd sweeps period in a row, the ABC public affairs program saw its most-watched sweeps in over 2 years - since November 2009.
" This Week" was up over February 2011 in Total Viewers (+5%), drawing its largest overall February sweep audience in 3 years - since 2009*.
