"This Week with George Stephanopoulos" in conjunction with Pongr ® is giving viewers an opportunity to showcase their photography skills and show us what Americana means to them with "Your Voice, Your Pics". Viewers can submit whatever they feel best exemplifies Americana - whether it's a classic retro diner, their local Girl Scout troop, or an American flag and we'll show our favorites on the show.
"This is another innovative way our viewers and users can engage with each other and our program. Everyone from members of Congress to voters across the country can share in what makes this country so great," said Jon Banner, executive producer, "This Week". " Whether it's a photo of an apple pie or a snapshot of a covered bridge, the goal is to see what conjures up feelings of patriotism in people."
ABC News is the first television network that the image recognition technology company Pongr ® has worked with to provide an interactive photo sharing opportunity for viewers.
"We're delighted to power the technology that helps ABC News create an always-on, visual platform that connects fans in moments that matter and around brand programs." said Jamie Thompson, CEO of Pongr ®. "This launch is a blend of fun American content and an example of how traditional media can connect and co-create crowd-sourced content."
To submit photos, viewers can email or text their submission to firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll post the photos online where everyone will have the opportunity to vote on their favorites and share them on Facebook and Twitter.
