I live in the Detroit (southwest) area and I hear a humming sound in the middle of the night and cannot figure it out; it is a humming sound that is distant but enough to bother me and I do not know who to let know of this buzzing/humming sound in the early morning hours…..I thought I was going crazy until I read this article….

I think IF the noise does truely exhist than the americans should be able to hear it in Canada at the same time the Canadians do. If that occurs than the likely cause (if indeed the sound source is the steel site).. If iron ore is dense and travels in a vain to the river or even to canada. Any vibrations produced at the site wouldn’t be noticed in MI, But because of the amplification of the water would be noticible in Canada. the make of the ground (speaker wire) is transmitting the vibrations to the water (Amplifier) and then possibly to another ore deposite acting as a speaker in Canada.
