Surfboard Camera Captures Dramatic Rescue

This incredible video shows a young boy being rescued from a dangerous riptide off England's Coast Wednesday afternoon.

The boy was dragged into the strong current while learning to surf at Croyde Beach in Devon.

Fast-acting James Vallance, a lifeguard with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, quickly paddled out to the distressed boy. A camera mounted on his lifeboard captured the dramatic rescue. At first, the surf was so rough the boy couldn't climb onto the lifeboard. But after another attempt he finally made it and was safely returned to shore.

'The young lad was very grateful to be dropped back on the beach - and his dad was very pleased to see him," RNLI Divisional Lifeguard Manager, Phil Hill, told a local paper.
