EXCLUSIVE: Former Vice President Dick Cheney Speaks to ABC's Jonathan Karl in His First Interview Since Heart Transplant

Exclusive Interview to air on "GMA," "World News with Diane Sawyer," and "Nightline" on Monday, July 30

Former Vice President Dick Cheney will sit down with ABC News senior political correspondent Jonathan Karl for his first interview since having a heart transplant earlier this year. The interview will take place in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on Friday, July 27.

Cheney has had a long and public battle with his health having suffered five heart attacks and in 2001 had a pacemaker installed in his chest. Earlier this month he hosted a high-dollar fundraiser for Mitt Romney - marking the first time he has appeared publicly with the Republican presidential candidate.

Jonathan Karl will preview his conversation with Cheney on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" Sunday, July 29. The interview will air across all ABC News broadcasts on Monday, July 30 with portions airing on "Good Morning America" and "World News with Diane Sawyer." The extended interview will air Monday night on "Nightline" - America's #1 show in late-night. The interview will also be featured across ABC News digital platforms, Yahoo! News, and ABC News Radio.

This is the second exclusive Jon Karl has landed this week - on Wednesday he sat down for an exclusive conversation with Former First Lady Laura Bush where they discussed skipping the GOP convention, the advice she gave Ann Romney and her recent trip to Africa with former President Bush ( Watch).
