I used to teach at OKC Public. They had a real issue with sports teams being co-opted by gangs, particularly that of the Raiders. OU and OSU (university) football is practically a religion here, so banning those sports teams would have never flown. Thus, the “Oklahoma only” apparel rule. It may sound dumb, but I have sympathy for the administrators trying to keep order in a particularly rough environment.

Did I read that right? “Students are only allowed to wear apparel from OK universities”? Students in school are treated like prison inmates! I’m so glad I finally took my kids out of school and started homeschooling them. I’d like my children to learn a little common sense, but apparently it’s not so common.

Are we sure he was not told to turn his shirt inside-out becasue it says “Go Blue” and he lives in a red state? Maybe that “eagle-eyed school staff member” was just trying to make sure that no liberals slipped through the school’s tight security. Let one liberal in and next thing you know kids are being taught about evolution and sex! Oh the horror.

Another reason to “outlaw” proffesional and college sports, look at the lengths idiots go to… Only allowed to wear team sports from their state, and in a public school no-less? Football should be “outlawed” and any caught playing it arrested! Football teaches violence and that “butt slapping in public is okay”…
