For the first time ever, both editions of ABC News' "Good Morning America" on Saturday and Sunday each beat its corresponding NBC "Today" Saturday and Sunday telecasts in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 (full-length, regular telecasts) during the same weekend, since debuting in its current format in September 2004.

ABC News' "Good Morning America-Saturday" ranked as the No. 1 Saturday morning newscast for the 2nd week in a row in both Total Viewers (3.420 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.193 million) on September 15, 2012, according to Nielsen Media Research. In fact, "GMA-Saturday" has been the most-watched morning program for 3 consecutive Saturdays and in 4 of the last 5.

For the 5th straight week and in 12 of the last 13, "GMA-Sunday" improved on its year-ago marks in both Total Viewers (+9%) and Adults 25-54 (+8%) - 3.141 million and 1.105 million, respectively, on 9/17/11. The ABC morning newscast stood as the only network program to grow year-to year as both NBC's "Saturday Today" (-4%/-9%) and "CBS This Morning: Saturday" (-18%/-27%) each posted losses.

Season to date, "GMA-Saturday" is the only network morning news program to increase in Total Viewers (+10%) and Adults 25-54 (+6%) versus its year-ago averages compared to NBC's "Saturday Today" (-11%/15%) and "CBS This Morning: Saturday" (-1%/flat).

GMA-SUNDAY

ABC News' "Good Morning America-Sunday" averaged 3.039 million Total Viewers and a 0.9 rating /6 share /1.020 million in Adults 25-54 on September 16, 2012, according to Nielsen Media Research.

"GMA-Sunday" was up year to year in both Total Viewers (+18%) and Adults 25-54 (+5%) - 2.568 million and 971,000, respectively, on 9/18/11. "GMA-Sunday" saw the largest year-to-year increase in Total Viewers compared to CBS' "Sunday Morning (+4%) and NBC's "Sunday Today" (-12%).

"GMA-Sunday" beat NBC's "Sunday Today" in both Total Viewers (+144,000) and Adults 25-54 (+38,000), outperforming the NBC program for the 4th time in both measures since the end of the Olympics 5 weeks ago.

Season to date, "GMA-Sun" is the only network newscast to be up in Total Viewers (+2%) versus its year-ago averages, as both NBC's "Sunday Today" (-8%) and CBS' "Sunday Morning" (-1%) lost viewers.
