The suspects were believed to be responsible for a robbery at the Bank of America in Santa Clarita, Calif., that occurred shortly after 10 a.m. PST, reported ABC News' Los Angeles station, KABC-TV.

During the pursuit, which passed through downtown Los Angeles, people were seen running to pick up cash that was thrown from the vehicle, and even stepped in front of police cars to do so.

Two suspects exited the SUV and fled the scene on foot.

The remaining two suspects were apprehended when a silver truck blocked their way at 11:23 a.m. PST.

A large crowd surrounded the scene as officers cuffed the two men and took them into custody.
