Ratings: "ABC World News" Cuts Total Viewer Gap with NBC in 8 of the Last 9 Weeks, Year-to-Year

Four Weeks Into New Season, "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" Narrows Total Viewing Gap with "NBC Nightly News" by 22% - Marking Smallest Gap in 4 Years

For the week of October 15, 2012, "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" averaged 7.05 million Total Viewers and a 1.4 rating/6 share/1.70 million in Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research.

For the 4th time this season and in the last 7 weeks overall, "World News" narrowed its Total Viewer margin with "NBC Nightly News" (-6% - 805,000 vs. 860,000) . In fact, "World News" has cut its year-to-year gap with the NBC newscast in 8 of the last 9 weeks.

Four weeks into the 2012-13 season, "World News" has narrowed its Total Viewer gap (-22%) with "NBC Nightly News" to post its smallest (438,000) with the NBC program in 4 years- since the 2008-09 season.

"World News" outperformed the "CBS Evening News" by 989,000 Total Viewers and 38,000 Adults 25-54.
