120 a piece is correct. Adding all raptor r&d to the unit cost is dishonest - like the technology that that r&d created was a dead end and will never be used again or built upon. Create your own reality...but we could have bought another raptor for $120m.

MASTER DEGREE
Sorry but you are wrong all R&D expenses are figured in the total sells. Where do you think the R&D money comes from.

This jet was selling for 120 million when the production was haulted not 420 million. That is a gross stretching of the truth. (a lie)

The contrator and the government spent billions on developing this technology, (R&D) research and development does not mean it cost 400 million a pop....

we do not pay the R&D money it had taken to develop cars or any technologically advanced item.. stop with the scare tactics and do some real reporting... people are not paying 200,000 for a honda although that much R&D probably went into it.....

Another piece of cut and paste inferior journalism from ABC News. All you need to read is the first 40 words. The rest is an attempt to pretend the crash validates their previous ill informed hatchet job pieces. I understand that there is usually a gag on any official discussion of a major accident like this, because all the material and eyewitness data must be compared, and order must be deduced from chaos. OK, I get it, but Mr. Ferran, could you get some basic questions answered? How about the mission the jet was performing? Was it up and away, or landing? Taking off? Was there weather involved? Was another aircraft a factor? In other words, who what where when and why? For all us geeks, it would be nice to know the tail number. There are so few F-22s some of them are well known to us. FYI, Mr. Ferran: you need to update your "most expensive fighter plane ever" headline because the F-35 blows through the record if you calculate the numbers my way. You could probably claim $500 million a jet with very little math. More if you want to do some work.
