Today ABC News President Ben Sherwood announced new assignments for Paula Faris, Diana Perez, Marci Gonzalez and Linzie Janis. He sent the following email to the news division outlining the changes:

I have good news to share.  Please join me in congratulating Paula Faris, Diana Perez, Marci Gonzalez and Linzie Janis on new roles at ABC News.

A year ago Paula joined the news division as the co-anchor of “World News Now” and “America This Morning.”  She’s been instrumental in helping both #1 broadcasts gain in the ratings this season, delivering the biggest overnight audience in years.

I’m delighted to tell you that she’s expanding her reporting portfolio by moving dayside and will now serve as a correspondent for all ABC News programs.

Paula has a unique talent for finding stories that resonate with our audience.  Most recently she reported for our “Real Money” series, helping American families cash in on unwanted holiday gifts and save on their cell phone bills.

Diana Perez will become the new co-anchor of “World News Now” and “America This Morning” working alongside Rob Nelson.

Diana has been a correspondent for NewsOne, covering a wide range of stories for ABC News, from Jerry Sandusky’s sexual abuse to Nic Wallenda’s epic walk over Niagara Falls to the U.S. economic recovery and flu outbreak.

A skilled broadcaster with delightful wit, I’m confident Diana will be welcomed by our overnight viewers.  She has been a substitute co-anchor on “WNN” and “ATM,” and she and Rob have already proven to be a great team.

Marci joins us from WABC, the number one station in New York.  She’ll be a New York-based correspondent for NewsOne.

At Eyewitness News Marci has had a keen eye for important and informative stories, covering communities hit hardest by Superstorm Sandy, the tragic mass shootings in Aurora and Newtown and the Penn State scandal.

Marci extensively covered the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.  She was one of the first journalists on the ground and has returned numerous times to witness and report the slow recovery on the island.  We’re very excited that she’ll now be part of the excellent team at NewsOne.

After 13 years in London – the last 4 with Bloomberg Television – Linzie Janis is relocating to New York.  She’ll be a correspondent for ABC News, reporting for all programs and platforms on a wide range of stories.

Linzie covered the international financial markets as anchor of Bloomberg’s “First Look” and “Countdown.”  She regularly interviewed high-profile CEOs, bankers, government officials and investors making headlines around the world.

Paula, Diana, Marci and Linzie are gifted storytellers and excellent journalists who will help our audience see the whole picture on all platforms.

Please join me in wishing them the best of luck in these new assignments.

Ben
