The child can not have wireless internet after 10pm but can have an older friend spend then night? An older friend who is on prescription sleeping medication. Why was the friend allowed overnight? Who drove the other child to the fast food place, who provided the meds? Also who did not provide supervision to the "teen" when he/she was allowed to leave the house with an older teen who had some issues and bring back mom and dad junk food. Of course, having your child arrested should be a last resort. But I doubt very seriously that this is the first time the teen has acted out against authority. And considering the parents only drank 1/4th of the milkshake, this could have had far more tragic consequences than it did. Giving this family the benefit of the doubt and assuming there's no abuse involved in any way, I think the teen is out of control and the parents are at their wits end. God help them both. Yes because when someone drugs you the BEST and ONLY response, is to talk it out, find out why they did it. No. When someone drugs you, you call the police, just because it is Your child shouldn't mean you do otherwise. These children obviously need to get help. In response to ANON.

We're not showing them how to mature. We're not being examples of HOW TO BE MATURE! It's not guns, drugs, knives or any "thing" that is "dangerous" what's DANGEROUS is IGNORANCE and a wilful immaturity among people who believe they are "entitled" to "more" than they have... from these teens to adults around the world. There is NO reason what so ever for ANYONE at ANY age to DRUG or POISON another person. I don't care WHAT the excuse was! Can you not see what the danger is here? They obviously ground-up a medication- meant for SLOW RELEASE- and dispensed it without forethought. Ever heard of date rape drugs? What if she had overdosed one of them to the point of killing them??? Would you still think they should have 'talked' to her first? The idea of them needing to talk to her more is as moronic as the kids idea to drug her parents! The whole problem with ALL of the kids today is too many "parents" are trying to treat CHILDREN as ADULTS. PARENTS make the RULES. CHILDREN LIVE WITH THEM. PERIOD. The sooner 'parents' get that through their heads the less kids will end up in prison and the less guns will be showing up at schools. If she would do something so horribly wrong with her parents, what would she be willing to do to the girl at school who just stole her boyfriend? Seriously, you best think BEFORE you speak. They are Psychopaths-in-training. If my daughter had done that to me, I would have been arrested for beating the crap out of her before the cops could show up. Kids are INSANE now! God help ALL the parents out there. Thank God mine are already grown. Some where down the road we will all have to be concerned over these 2 kids. They are Psychopaths-in-training. Great thinking of the future there. Sounds to me like these parents didn't know how to parent to begin with and now that they've come to that realization they're now defaulting on the police department which probably has better calls to deal with then some minor teenage-parent relations. They have in one fell swoop eliminated any potential for a government job with that arrest. Yes it's "sealed" but the fact is there is an arrest record. Maybe if they actually tried talking with their kids to find out WHY they think its unfair then maybe they would be able to avoid further issues.
