Sounds much like the anti-abortion protests here. They don’t want the dogs killed, but who is stepping forward to adopt them or provide sanctuaries?

I’m an American who’s been living in Moscow for several years now- unfortunately, the authorities are inept and incapable of doing anything. For example, in my building, theres this mad stray German sheppard thats been living there for years- he barks ferociously at everyone and even chases me down the stairs when I take the lift. He lives literally outside my door and I have to basically step over him to get in/out. He once belonged to someone- an old alcoholic- but one day I came back from work and he was face down dead in bloody snow…since then, hes been kept alive with disgusting kitchen scraps the old ladies through to him. Long story short, I welcome this group even if it seems cruel to other westerners. Either that, or pay a group of Tajiks a few thousand roubles to bludgeon him

These are not stray pets. They are packs of feral for multiple generations wild animals. Dangerous animals. You can’t re-home them. For many of them culling is the only solution. The cruelty was dumping the dogs in the first place.
