A new, dramatic video shows an off-duty police officer jumping to the rescue of a woman who fainted and fell onto the tracks of a Madrid subway line Monday.

The video, which was released by the Spanish police, shows the woman toppling onto the tracks as bystanders rushed to try to help her. The police officer can be seen jumping onto the tracks at the other end of the platform and running toward the woman, and then carrying her to the other side of the tracks as a train approached.

The train stopped at the opposite end of the tracks, and the off-duty officer and the woman made their way to safety.
