"But the notion that people ‘awake’ from meditation is a common, prevalent misunderstanding for the profoundly ignorant and uninformed."

Yes, and because you're so knowledgeable and informed, you're so much better than everyone else.

"Secondly, it is a Bad Faith stretch to say that this woman is suing “because her Zen meditation was disturbed”"

This is what most of the world calls "wit." I can tell you're lacking in that department, but this type of thing is common in writing.

Also, read the headline and notice that there's a comma in the middle. This indicates a clear separation of ideas. 1) she lost her zen (and if you saw some guy masturbating over you, my guess is that you would too). 2) she is suing the gym because she was disturbed. Seeing as how she didn't continue to meditate when she saw him, she was disturbed.

This is basic grammar.

"This article had a Bad Faith mission that was clearly determined to make this woman and the notion of `meditation’ look ridiculous, frivolous and moronic."

Obviously not. Again, this is just you failing to understand the concept of using wit in writing an article. You see, you can't just list the facts and expect that people are going to read it. The article has to be interesting.

I think there's a deeper problem for you in this. You're well informed and you seem to take it extremely personally, which to me means that you practice Yoga and get a lot of guff for it. So you do what everyone else does when this kind of thing happens: you lash out on the internet.

She must be new to Yoga.

A real Yogi would shrug this off as trivial.

Really.

This is horrible! Shame on you, Alexis Shaw and ABC! First this poor woman was sexually assaulted, then you poke fun at the incident with this horrible headline. Not a funny play on words, not funny at all. You owe that woman an apology!

The headline of this piece is clearly designed to minimise and demean the subject of a repulsive sexual assault.

Congratulations ABC News - this ignominious trash reached me down in New Zealand! Your misogyny is world famous!!!

The headline is insulting. She wasn't merely suing because someone "disturbed" her while she was meditating. It makes her seem trite and petty. The man was performing a lewd sexual act in front of her while she thought she was safe in a yoga studio. Those that wonder why she's suing the company rather than pressing charges against the man - because they didn't believe her when she reported it and treated her poorly. If she sues them, they may actually screen their employees better and take these types of reports seriously. There will always be sick people in our world that do terrible things, the greater problem are the people that stand by and do nothing or stay silent because they don't want to get involved.
