For many of you agreeing with this jerk guard's action, pray you never ever grow old. Had this been your elderly parent or grandparent would you be so quick at the fingers to type your remarks? Some of you probably never ridden any type of mass transit before but felt the need chime in -- Oh yeah first amendment...duh. What has this world come to??? We treat each other lower than dogs. I've ridden mass transits, the chatter alone is just as loud and if you ride everyday you should obiviously know your stop. Where is Miami transit outsourcing their guards from former convicted abusers and thugs? Just shameful. For many of you agreeing with this jerk guard’s action, pray you never ever grow old. This is why we have to observe good judgment, as we follow the rules that make living in society possible. The elderly will use public transportation, and the disabled too. We do not hide people away and curtail their ability to move around. This is a violent society. The true scandal is that old loudly singing ladies on public transportation are treated roughly and cause to fall! That so many here applauded this violence against an obnoxious singing and maraca lady is truly appalling. The guard is in the wrong, as are those who applaud the rough handling of the loud-maraca-wielding-praise-the-lord elderly. Where is the kindness and forbearance here? The symbolism of this incident should give us pause as citizens. What if she were hard of hearing? What if the singing were a coping mechanism to deal with being alone? We will inevitably grow old too, but of course we do not think to put ourselves in her shoes. This is sad and frightening. Rules are not rules. I can't believe one that she was making that much noise and he could have handled it much differently. There was no reason for him to drag her off the train and I hope she gets restitution and he is fined or suspended. I know he would not want his mother treated that way and if she had been he would be filing charges too. That man was wrong. He never touched her. He didn't manhandle her. He dragged her bag and threw it off the train. She was the one clinging to the bag. Her injuries are her own fault. Oh well... I don't care if she was singing about God or the little green men who visit her at night...rights are rights. Rules are rules - but common sense is just that. I don't care if she is purple white blue or black...she's an old lady. She probably cannot hear well. Who in the hell was she disturbing to the point she had to physically be removed from the train. We are in a sad state of affairs people. I tend to think 30-40 years ago, this would not have happened. wow – a little old lady singing on a train. You can't break the rules and hide behind your age and race. You're old enough and wise enough to know better. You should be setting the example. Granny, I’m sorry. I wander if Mike Tyson, or Joe Montanna would have been man handled like the 82 yr. old? I did'nt think so. Would the flash light cop have showed a little bit more "RESPECT"? Do flight attendants handle it that way? or do they get cop assitance? Oh, he got lucky that day, it'll turned out different if he'd been draggin some of my sisters off that train. See, he would have been calling for back up messin with an angry black women. When dealing with the elderly, disabled or mentally ill, it should be handled a little different. He need to be more careful the next time, he may not be so lucky. He's got a dangerous job if he uses his hands before he uses his head. I'll call Mike, or Hollifield and see if they could arrange to ride the same train and hum me a few tunes, we would see a differents outcome. You see, some things you just have to let "RIDE" He should never judge the book by it's cover, cause "MAMA COULD KNOCK HIM OUT" Yes, maybe she did sing a little to loud, but it could have been handled a better way being that she is 82.
