ABC News' "Good Morning America" won the February 2013 Sweep in both Total Viewers (5.669 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.130 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" marked its first February sweeps victory in 19 years in Total Viewers and in 20 years in Adults 25-54 - since February 1994 and February 1993, respectively.

"GMA" led NBC's "Today" (4.821 million and 2.033 million) by its largest Total Viewer margin (+848,000) during any sweep in more than 21 years - since at least the November 1991 sweep; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991. In Adults 25-54, "GMA" beat "Today" by its biggest news demo advantage (+97,000) during a sweep in nearly 19 years - since May 1994.

"GMA" improved on the previous sweep (5.316 million and 2.025 million for November 2012) in both Total Viewers (+7%) and Adults 25-54 (+5%). In fact, the ABC morning newscast turned in its largest overall sweeps audience in more than 21 years - since at least November 1991. Additionally, "GMA" saw its best sweeps performance in the key adult news demo in 5 years -February 2008.

"GMA" outperformed CBS' "This Morning" during the month in Total Viewers (+88%) and Adults 25-54 (+86%), delivering its largest Total Viewer advantage (2.657 million) during a sweep in nearly 7 years - since May 2005.

Week of February 25, 2013

For the week of February 25, 2013, "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1 in the morning for the 4th straight week in both Total Viewers (5.835 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.241 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. Growing its Adults 25-54 audience for the 3rd week in a row (+2% - 2.195 million on w/o 2/18/13), "GMA" saw its best news demo performance in more than 4 years - since w/o 1/26/09.

"GMA" outdrew NBC's "Today" (5.835 million vs. 4.814 million) by +1.021 million viewers, representing its first back-to-back weeks with a +1.0 million Total Viewer margin over the "Today Show" in more than 21 years (since at least September 1991, the start of the Nielsen electronic database). "GMA" beat "Today" by +1.055 million viewers the previous week (w/o 2/18/13). In addition, "GMA" outpaced "Today" by +231,000 demo viewers (2.241 million vs. 2.010 million), its largest Adults 25-54 advantage over the NBC program since premiere week 5 months ago - since w/o 9/24/12.

Airing the week's Top 2 most-watched telecasts, "GMA" outdelivered "Today" by 1.579 million on Monday (6.407 million vs. 4.828 million on 2/25/13) and by 1.394 million on Tuesday (6.075 million vs. 4.681 million on 2/26/13) , representing the first time in nearly 18 years that "GMA" led "Today" by over 1.0 million viewers twice during a course of a week - since w/o 5/1/94. In addition, "GMA" turned in its top Adults 25-54 telecast on Monday (2.475 million) since the royal wedding nearly 2 years ago and 2nd-highest in 4 years - since 4/29/11 and 3/3/09, respectively.

The ABC morning newscast has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in all 22 weeks of the season and in 17 of 22 weeks in Adults 25-54. Further, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 every week in Total Viewers for more than six months (the last 28 weeks) and in 33 of the last 35 (behind "Today" only during the 2 weeks of the Summer Olympics). Further, "GMA's" 28 consecutive weeks at No. 1 stand as its longest stretch in 20 years - since the 1992-93 season, w/o 11/9/92 - w/o 6/28/93. In Adults 25-54, "GMA" ranked No. 1 in 21 of the past 26 weeks.

"GMA" improved year to year (5.364 million and 2.165 million, respectively, on w/o 2/27/12) in both Total Viewers (+9%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%), building on the same week last year in overall viewers in all 22 weeks this season. NBC's "Today" decreased from the year-earlier week by double-digits in both Nielsen measures (-13%/-19%).

Season to date "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" is leading "Today" by its largest season margin in overall viewers (+581,000) in more than 21 years, and in the key adult news demo (+74,000) in 21 years - since at least the 1991-92 season and since the 1991-92 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+7%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%) versus its year-ago averages, standing as the only morning newscast to grow in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -15%/-21%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is mixed +8%/flat, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 8 years and best Adult 25-54 performance in 4 years - since the 2004-05 and 2008-09 seasons, respectively.

For the week, "GMA" more than doubled the performance of CBS' "This Morning" in Total Viewers (+104%) and Adults 25-54 (+108%), beating the CBS morning program by its largest news demo advantage (1.162 million) in more than 6 years - since w/o 10/16/06.
