Days after U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder told ABC News the sequester will make America less safe, the nation’s most elite troops – the men and women tracking and taking out terrorist threats abroad – said they too will fall victim to the political mess in Washington.

A spokesperson for U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), the umbrella organization for the special operations commands of each service branch as well as the shadowy, Osama bin Laden-killing Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), told ABC News Friday the command expects the mandatory budget cuts to hit them in six ways. Though sequester went into effect Friday, the USSOCOM spokesperson did not say exactly when the specific effects of the cuts he listed would come into play for the command.

Check out the USSOCOM list below, then click here to see how Sequestration could affect you.

The Sequester Will Force USSOCOM To…

-Reduce training and flight operations

-Defer some maintenance on aircraft, boats, vehicles and facilities

-Eliminate or reduce some contracts

-Reduce planned facilities projects

-Delay replacement of materiel used in training and operations

-If the Defense Department directs furloughing of civilians, SOCOM will too

Why do Democrats hate the military?

Why do Republicans hate the military?

The problem, guys, is that both parties are playing this juvenile our side – their side crap and the people they are supposed to represent are eating it. That’s us. You understand that right?

Actually Phoenix, the sequester was Obama’s idea, that’s indisputable. He designed cuts to the military to force the Republicans to bend to his almighty will. Obama thinks he is the divine imperial emperor. He is just the modern day Emperor Nero. He lights the fire to Rome, then blames the right.

The real question is why didn’t Obama work on the problem last year. The House passed two bills addressing the issue and Reid in the Senate killed it and Obama threatened to Veto the bills and was to busy trying to get elected. A real leader at least would have been trying to work out an agreement.

Actually Epu you are incorrect.

The sequester IDEA come from the WH but you forget that Boehner was extremely happy with the deal, he got “98% of what (he) wanted”. It was the Democrats that were mad at Obama because he caved on the cut vs. revenue ratio.

If Obama was some imperialist as you _need_ to believe, then he would somehow get what he wanted, which is obviously not the case since there is gridlock.

Remember folks, from LAST Congressional session we got a cut to revenue ration of 3 to 1, that means 3 dollars cut for every 1 dollar brought in. Yes there was some extra revenue but don’t forget the 1.2 Trillion in cuts!

Now Obama is once again saying that the plan needs to be balanced, he’s willing to CUT AND increase revenue but it’s the GOP who is saying they won’t take a dime of extra revenue.

It’s the GOP who are being obstructionist and unwilling to negotiate and the general public knows it. Apparently they aren’t that concerned about the deficit and debt after all.

Nobody has hurt special ops as much the lamebrain known as Obama.

Obama has consistently increased military spending. How exactly has he hurt Spec Ops?

Posted by: BoboMcStevens | March 2, 2013, 5:04 pm 5:04 pm

Oh yeah, I do remember that Obama tried to steal credit from them, and that he publicized who did it, thus putting all their lives in danger. I had forgotten.

Instead of cutting military, let’s start by cutting Obama’s relentless and gratuitous vacationing.

Actually BoboMcStevens .. YOU are wrong… The House did pass 2 bill that Harry Ried held up…PERIOD!! Not sure why the liberals constantly want to argue with the fact… This is the Liar in Chiefs total doing…. Keep screaming its everyone else’s fault, but keep in mind that more that Obama points fingers at everyone else….there are 3 more pointing right back at him.

And… I guess none of the liberals on here bother to read or do any research…Obama got his increase in revenues….but is trying to back out of the cuts….SPEND SPEND SPEND….THAT’S ALL HE KNOWS HOW TO DO…NOT GOVERN…JUST SPEND

Ah, a fake me. How quaint. If you want to know who released PERSONAL information it was FoxNews who named the Seal who killed OBL.

YOUSHOULDBESMARTER – just because the House passed a bill doesn’t mean it’s balanced in any way. Their bill was ONLY cuts (again, COMPLETELY IMBALANCED). The WH is willing to CUT and increase Revenue but the House is only willing to CUT.

You toss out a lot of opinions but there is little facts to your posts.

He’s NOT trying to back out of the cuts. Where did you get that? You also didn’t read my post thoroughly because I clearly stated that in the previous Congressional Session is where we got revenue AND cuts. But this time the GOP is ONLY saying to cut. They’re the ones who are not willing to bargain.

Actually Lauren, you are WRONG. Obama has consistently been the President who has spent less than any President back as far as Reagan. There are numerous reports done by several institues that support this fact. While I am not an Obama fan for my own political reasons, you cannot dispute the fact that it is a misnomer to accuse Obama as a spender. He has been far more thrifty or stingy with spending than his predeccesors. Just get facts straight before you promote the typical conservative mantra…. spend, spend. spend because your are wrong on that issue!!

Good Lord, Jim. This is the President who has run T-t-t-trillion dollar deficits every year he’s been in office. Set records for number of people on food stamps. Threw money at failing businesses.

And projects trillion dollar deficits far into the future. Yeah, he’s a spendthrift on Bizarro World.

The SOF community has seen the largest build-up and resourcing since its inception. They’ve made out like fat cats compared to conventional forces and if they take a required snip here and there, oh well, suck it up like the rest of us.

Oh, the doom and gloom! Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Red Rain! Red Rain! Good God! It’s time for the whole show to go! If we’re that dependent on Big Brother that a 2% decline in spending is going to send us over the edge, well, perhaps that’s just where we ought to go!
