The age, really, has no restrictions to what someone will do to you in a threatening manner. These girls deserve what they got coming. Threatening anyone is against the law. It is perfectly possible to have a underage-drinking free society. And yes, she should be punished too. Read the law - drinking under 21 is illegal. She passed out. What, did you people not pay attention in health class as a kid? She should be prosecuted too - or she is at least liable for all that happened to her. People are saying get real? "where were her friends?" Her friends probably didn't go to the party to babysit their friend, they probably went to hang out with their friends. If she needed a babysitter, HER PARENTS should've hired one to accompany her. Does ANY RESPONSIBILTY lie on her? or is it EVERYONE else's fault? That is exactly what those boys were guilty of and it will ruin them in the future. They are now felons and will find it hard to get a decent job or a mate with any sense of self-respect or prudence. When a drinker gets to the point of vomiting, they are already in the throws of alcohol poisoning which is dangerous in and of itself. To blame a 16-year-old girl for being disrobed and having had fingers stuck up her vagina is beyond reason, not to mention photos being posted online of her situation. I once roomed with a girl in college who had been through a lot of counseling. I didn't ask her at first, but waited for her to eventually tell me what her story was. Apparently, she had been molested by a babysitter when she was very young. It was discovered and her family sent her to therapy. At 13, she was raped by her older boyfriend and ran into the street screaming in only her panties as she made her escape. Again, she received more therapy. Her family noticed that she began to withdraw, although she seemed to show more resolve, there was something clearly wrong, but they couldn't put it together. She had been collecting weapons and was making plans to kill her ex-boyfriend and every other male who had victimized her. She was very serious and it wasn't until her parents discovered her handwritten plot and several knives under her mattress that they realized how damaging the rapes had been. Next time you make light of something like this, remember that you have no way of knowing what kind of damage was done to the victim and how they miay or may not retaliate. It could bein the form of a school shooting, an individual murder, a random shooting of men - as what took place recently by a rape victim who entered a store and began shooting random males. Everyone reaps what they sow. It's the law of the universe. Keep blaming the victim, and one day, you' may find yourself in her shoes or worse. "Prosecute everyone" "Everyone broke the law" "Time to send a message". Did any of you people every go to a party in high school? Did anyone of you go to college? This stuff happens every single day. Even YOUR kids go out and do a little drinking and smoke a little pot. You think your little angels aren't doing stuff they shouldn't? I'm sure you're all perfect parents with perfect families that do everything perfect. Get real. Yeah, these two got punished, as they should have, but to think that this doesn't happen every day in every town and in every city in the country is just naive. You want to teach your kids something? Teach them to protect themselves. Teach them to treat people with a tiny bit of respect. Teach them not to get totally hammered on liquor or weed. The football players are guilty, but Little Miss Got Hammered to the Gills didn't help her situation either. She's is the victim, but just else in life, just to a point. And don't think your kids aren't involved in the very same things these kids were involved in. At least try not to be that stupid. Three teenagers lives are ruined by what happened. But what I don't understand is 1. she was molested not raped. 2. she was too drunk to know what she was doing and should not be held responsible for what happened, the boys were drunk also but they are being held responsible for what they did. 3. she had a record for this type of drunken behavior, had did her parents not know The threats are wrong. This girl just got raped, by two "men", and some of you are saying she should be punished for drinking underage? I think she learned a lesson; quite sure she learned a few lessons about drinking and partying. I'm sure it was an eye opener for a lot of people. Those boys got off easy. Rape never goes away. You never forget it. They do 1-2 years and are out with a clean record, because they're juveniles. They'll continue on with their lives. Who knows how long it will take her to pick up the pieces... To think that young girls and women would not stand up for a rape victim and actually threaten or treat with disrespect is absolutely horrible and shows that we as a society are pathetic. The fact that the ignorant girls who threatened the victim could get more years than the boys who raped and basically tortured and humiliated the victim is yet even more disgusting. When I saw the boys break down crying, I thought it is tears for themselves! Not scared enough to molest a drunk girl but scared of jail. For Godsake the people in the courtroom actually had more empathy for them than the victim. Shame on them and they better hope that nothing horrible happens to them in this life as they may be treated just as coldly. The parents of the rapist will probably be in church on Sunday praying for their babies safety instead of praying that their sons wake up and understand what they did and find some remorse.
