A forgotten lesson that whatever goes up must come down led to an eye-popping vehicle crash on a drawbridge in the Netherlands this week.

A cameraman filming a program called “Netherlands from Above” left his quad bike unattended on the Van Brienenoord Bridge in Rotterdam while he filmed sheep nearby, according to Dutch media reports.

As the bridge’s drawbridge began to rise, the cameraman had only enough time to grab his camera equipment and get himself out of harm’s way, leaving the quad bike on its own to crash to the ground as the drawbridge rose.

The result was a loud crash and a dramatic end to the quad bike, but no one was injured.

Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, which controls the bridge remotely from a control center in Rhoon, is investigating the incident, according to reports.
