Google Timelapse: A Quarter Century of Earth's Change

Working with the U.S. Geological Survey, NASA and Time magazine, search giant Google has unveiled a project that shows how planet Earth has changed over the course of a quarter century.

Compiled from millions of Landsat satellite images, one can see the retreat of a glacier, the growth of Las Vegas and the deforestation of the Amazon jungle over the past 25 years at a glimpse.

For a high-resolution experience, visit Google's Earth Engine, and for more insight into the impact of these changes, see Time's Timelapse story.
