“20/20″ Reports on the Almost Perfect Bank Robbery, Nips and Tucks Gone Wrong, Pageant Flubs and Mix-Ups, and a Botched Skydive Ending with a Miraculous Result, Airing Friday, June 21, 10 pm ET on ABC

A man’s elaborate scheme to bilk hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Bank of America in Seattle could not have been better scripted in Hollywood.  The meticulously planned crime was nearly perfect, and a man almost got away with floating down a river with $400,000 on an inflatable inner tube after a brazen broad daylight robbery of an armored truck.  But the mastermind missed a critical detail.  Anthony Curcio spent the last few years in prison paying for his crime and tells ABC News correspondent Gio Benitez all about it in an exclusive “20/20″ interview.  The once popular high school football player turned robber takes us on a wild journey into the details of how it all went down.  Anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and David Muir, “20/20″ airs on FRIDAY, JUNE 21 (10:00 – 11:00 pm ET) on the ABC TELEVISION NETWORK.

And:  It’s not exactly what they were hoping for when they set out for that nip, that tuck, that quick little fix that would make them more beautiful. When one woman went for what she thought would be a simple eyelid lift, she ended up with eyes wide open, never to be able to close them again. She learned the hard way that simple procedures are not always so simple after all.  In the wake of a divorce, one man decided he was going to upgrade his appearance with a tweak to his nose, but things went horribly wrong.  Today, the man has no nose.  Sometimes making it better, makes it a lot worse.  Amy Robach reports this cautionary tale.

Also:  When Miss Utah flubbed her interview questioning on the Miss USA stage a few days ago, she entered the viral kingdom of beauty pageant blunders.   This season of beauty pageants has offered other botched gems too like the one a few weeks ago when the wrong girl was crowned Miss Canada only to learn 24 hours later that it was all a mistake and she was really a runner-up.  Chris Connelly reports on some of the most memorable and outrageous beauty pageant fiascos.

Plus:  When expert skydiver Craig Stapleton jumped from a plane in March, it was routine until his main parachute didn’t deploy and even his back-up chute got stuck in its strings.  Stapleton believed he was living the final two minutes of his life while he plummeted to earth from 8,000 feet in the sky.   Matt Gutman reports on a botched skydive with surprising results.

David Sloan is senior executive producer of “20/20″ and John Green is the executive producer.
