Great White Shark Circles Boat Off NJ Coast

A group of fishermen boating off the coast of New Jersey over the weekend got more than the friendly fish they bargained for, thanks to a great white shark.

The three men , identified by local Philadelphia television station WCAU as Rob Pompilio, Mike Long and one other unidentified man, were about 30 miles southeast of Atlantic City, N.J., Sunday afternoon when they first saw the shark.

The trio estimated the shark was half the size of their 28-foot-long fishing boat, or nearly 14-feet long.

Video footage captured by Pompilio shows the shark circling the boat for nearly 10 minutes before swimming away. Pompilio, who could not be reached today by ABCNews.com, told WCAU the shark scratched the boat with its teeth before going back underwater.
