Jewel Heist Caught on Tape, But Thieves Not Caught

Georgia cops have launched a manhunt for a couple whose $500,000 jewelry heist was caught on the store's surveillance camera.

Gwinnett County police released the surveillance video from the June 5 robbery today in hopes of someone identifying the robbery duo who made off with half a million dollars in jewelry from Kay Jewelers in Snellville, Ga.

As seen on the surveillance video, the man initially posed as a customer asking about merchandise. The robber then pulls a gun on the clerk and orders the two employees to the floor. The female accomplice entered the store once the employees were on the ground, took the keys from the employees and began unlocking display cases and loading jewelry into a bag.

Both suspects hid their faces with hats and sunglasses and look to be 24 to 30 years old.

Many shops in the area say they were just opening for business during the 10a.m. robbery and didn't see anything. Kay Jewelers was not available for comment.
