Nightline" Ranks #1 Among Adults 18-49 for First Time Ever in New Time Period Beating Both NBC and CBS

"Nightline" Grows Adult 18-49 Audience for Third Consecutive Week-Posts ABC's Strongest Time Slot Delivery in 8 Months

On Average in New Time Period, "Nightline" Continues to Improve

ABC's Year-to-Year Performance in Total Viewers and Leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in All Key Measures

ABC News' "Nightline" averaged 1.579 million Total Viewers, 782,000 Adults 25-54 and 682,000 Adults 18-49 for the week of June 17, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research. " Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Adults 18-49 for the first time ever beating both CBS' "The Late Late Show" and NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."

For the 3rd consecutive week, "Nightline" grew its Adults 18-49 audience (+12% - 609,000 on w/o 6/10/13) from the previous week, drawing its best Adults 18-49 performance ever since moving to its new time period more than 5 months ago - since w/o 1/7/13 . In fact, "Nightline" posted ABC's strongest Adults 18-49 delivery in the time slot in nearly 8 months - since w/o 10/29/12.

On Tuesday (6/18/13) , "Nightline" turned in its best-ever Adults 18-49 telecast (1.032 million) since moving to its time period (since 1/8/13) .

For the week, "Nightline" outdrew CBS' "The Late Late Show" in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+322,000), Adults 25-54 (+252,000) and Adults 18-49 (+268,000). In fact, "Nightline" outperformed "The Late Late Show" by its largest advantages ever in both key adult demos for the 2nd straight week.

On average in its new time period, "Nightline" has improved ABC's performance compared to the same weeks last year in Total Viewers (+3%). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" across the board: Total Viewers (+164,000), Adults 25-54 (+46,000) and Adults 18-49 (+23,000).

Note: Due to Game 4 of Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday (6/19/13), NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" was retitled "Jimmy Fallon-JF" and was excluded from the averages. NBC's weekly average is based on four days (Mon-Tues and Thurs-Fri).

During the week on June 17 th, "Nightline" reported from the mountains of Northeast India to meet coal miners as young as nine years old who risk life and limb to work in some of the most dangerous coal mines in the world; had a first look inside Instagram's new video posting feature; reported the latest on the death of actor James Gandolfini, and the legal troubles surrounding former NFL player Aaron Hernandez; looked at the big business of the NBA; reported on controversial young rap artist Lil Poopy; and featured "Feed Frenzy" - a nightly look at the buzziest stories of the day, among other reports.
