For the 2nd Week in a Row, "This Week" Stands as the No. 1 Public Affairs Program in Adults 18-49
ABC Public Affairs Program Scores its Largest Total Viewer Margin Versus "Meet the Press" in Nearly 14 Years
On July 28, 2013, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" drew 2.720 million Total Viewers, 659,000 Adults 25-54 and 476,000 Adults 18-48, according to Nielsen Media Research. For the 2nd week in a row, "This Week" stood as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 18-49,leading CBS' "Face the Nation" by +66,000 and NBC's "Meet the Press" by +33,000.
In addition, "This Week" outperformed NBC's "Meet the Press" by +436,000 Total Viewers and by +32,000 Adults 25-54 viewers. In fact, the ABC public affairs program scored its largest Total Viewer margin versus "Meet the Press" in nearly 14 years - since 9/26/99, regular telecasts.
The ABC public affairs program grew week-to-week (2.230 million, 636,000 and 442,000 respectively, on 7/21/13) in Total Viewers (+22%) , Adults 25-54 (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+8%) . In fact, "This Week" saw its largest overall audience in more than 3 months - since 4/21/13.
"This Week" improved on its year-ago numbers in Total Viewers (+28%) , Adults 25-54 (+6%) and Adults 18-49 (+14%) - 2.128 million, 621,000 and 419,000, respectively on 7/29/12 .
Season to date, " This Week" is up in Total Viewers (+8%) versus its year-ago season averages, delivering its most-watched season in 4 years - since the 2008-09 season.
