"GMA" Celebrates 1 Year in First Place in Total Viewers

"GMA" is Delivering Its Most Number of No. 1 Finishes Both the Demo and Total Viewers During a Television Season in More than 21 Years

"GMA" Continues to Grows Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54

ABC News' "Good Morning America" was the No. 1 morning program in Total Viewers (5.078 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.902 million) for the week of August 12, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research. In fact, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 every week in Total Viewers for the past year (the last 52 weeks - since w/o 8/13/12). "GMA's" 52 consecutive weeks at the top stand as its longest stretch at No. 1 in more than 21 years - since before the 1991-92 season.

"Because of your incredible work, Good Morning America has been #1 in Total Viewers for one entire year," said Tom Cibrowski, GMA Senior Executive Producer. "It is an amazing accomplishment and a fantastic ride. We are also extremely grateful to the viewers who tune in every morning, and now it's up to us to keep going. We are only just beginning."

During the week, "GMA" outdrew NBC's "Today" (4.270 million and 1.703 million, respectively) by +808,000 Total Viewers and by +199,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" more than tripled its Total Viewer advantage (+217%) over the No. 2-ranked "Today Show" compared to its lead on the same week last year (+255,000 on w/o 8/12/13).

Season-to-date, "GMA" has turned in its most number of No. 1 finishes in both Total Viewers (46 of 46 weeks) and Adults 25-54 (38 of 46 weeks) during a television season in more than 21 years- since before the 1991-92 season; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

"GMA" was up week to week (1.868 million and 1.232 million, respectively, on w/o 8/5/13) in both Adults 25-54 (+2%) and Adults 18-49 (+5%). In fact, "GMA" grew in Adults 25-54 for the 5th straight week to draw its largest news demo audience in 8 weeks - since w/o 6/17/13. Additionally, GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo! reached 22 million users last month. It is the No. 1 morning news website and beats Today.com by millions of users each month.

Year to year, "GMA" improved its performance across all key target demos: Total Viewers (+9%), Adults 25-54 (+9%) and Adults 18-49 (+3%) - 4.654 million, 1.739 million and 1.255 million, respectively, for w/o 8/13/12. Further, "GMA" has seen its overall audience grow from the same week last year in all 46 weeks this season.

Season to date, "GMA" is the No. 1 morning news program in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. The ABC show is leading "Today" by its largest season margin in overall viewers (+667,000) in more than 21 years and in the adult news demo (+84,000) in 20 years - since before the 1991-92 season and the 1992-93 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date, "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+9%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%) versus its year-ago averages, growing the most in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -11%/-17%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is up +13%/+2%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in more than 21 years and best Adult 25-54 performance in 5 years - since before the 1991-92 season and 2007-08 seasons, respectively.

"GMA" nearly doubled the performance of "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+90%), while more than doubling in Adults 25-54 (+120%) and Adults 18-49 (+103%) .
